Maya Kapoor is a data-driven reporter and community advocate who specializes in the unique suburban-urban hybrid of Central Jersey. With over a decade of experience covering the “commuter belt”. Her work for Central Jersey focuses on making complex regional planning and economic shifts accessible to busy families and long-distance commuters. After earning her Master’s in Public Policy from Rutgers University, Maya worked as a transit analyst before transitioning into full-time journalism. When she isn’t analyzing municipal budgets, Maya is an avid gardener and a regular at the various farmers' markets that dot the Raritan Valley.
